We are pleased to announce the XXI European Congress of Perinatal Medicine (ECPM), which will take place September 10-13, 2008 in Istanbul, Turkey. This biennial congress attracts leading gynecologists, obstetricians, perinatologists, neonatologists and midwives and provides a unique forum for networking and the exchanging of new initiatives and advances in perinatal medicine. 2008 		DOHaD Workshop on "Obesity and Physical Activity in Children"
Calicut, India.

Rapid weight gain and obesity during childhood are risk factors for type 2 diabetes, hypertension and coronary heart disease in adult life. This 2-day workshop will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of Sneha-India and aims to explore the scale of the problem of childhood obesity, the underlying causes, what can be done about it, and the role of physical activity.
